Bay Head remains a small, quiet community ~ there are no public changing rooms and food & beverages are not allowed on the beach. However, visitors may rent kayaks, bikes and surfboards right in town.

While the town of Bay Head maintains a non-commercial boardwalk, visitors can take advantage of being only one mile south of Pt. Pleasant, which offers many amusements as well as restaurants and additional shopping. Barnegat Bay, just to the west of Bay Head, offers boating, fishing and water-skiing. Take a pleasant relaxing walk enjoying the ocean fresh iodine-rich air. The beach is steeper than most in NJ. The dunes are well organized and protected with plants. The color scheme of this particular beach was fascinating – toned done earth tone hues. Very relaxing.

Howe St. Jetty

Howe Street is a nice area of Bay Head. At the very end of May with the help of decent weather it is a pleasant vicinity to stroll.
